Long Overdue Update

B.A.D. Dogs has been growing and changing over these many months. We’ve adjusted our focus and shifted our overall plan for our dogs.

First, is our update on Sweets our last named B.A.D. Dog. As the staff and volunteers have grown closer to Sweets, the thought of seeing her leave became less and less acceptable. At some point, the decision was made to make Sweets a permanent fixture at LHS - our first shelter mascot. Unless a very special home materializes, Sweets will be spending her life with us, here at LHS. In time, Sweets will be a prominent part of the humane education at LHS. She has already passed her Canine Good Citizen test, proving that pit bulls really are great dogs!

Second is the shift that has developed within our program. We started as a program focused on one dog at a time. As more volunteers signed up and more became dedicated to the work we do, we were able to expand and work with more dogs. Today, B.A.D. Dogs holds weekly classes where each volunteer trainer works with one of our pit bulls under the lead of a head trainer. Currently, two of our dogs are working toward becoming certified CGC dogs.
